TO ME ar FOR ME?
Pavyzdys 1:
– I have a present to/for you. (kuris teisingas – “to” ar “for”?)
Pavyzdys 2:
– This day is very important to/for me. (kuris teisingas?)
Tiesa, yra nežymus skirtumas prasmės atspalviu – TO ME reiškia tiesiogine prasme MAN, be jokių tarpininkų, o FOR ME – labiau “dėl manės, mano garbei, už mane”.
Palyginkime:
1. I will give ten dollars to you. (tiesiogiai tau, į rankas)
2. I will buy a present for you. (dovana “tavo garbei”)
